Over ten (10) years ago, our founder, Callistus Maji took community development personally when he retired home after years of active and meritorious service with the apex bank of the government of Nigeria. He came bearing gifts to community children of Unyi-Ogugu, Olamaboro North Central of Kogi State through the establishment of Asma’u Community Academy, the first tuition-free and functional rural community primary & secondary school since the early 1960s – the advent of the missionary schools. As a visionary, community, and thought leader, he ensured the rights of children to safe, affordable, and quality education is achieved by ensuring a tuition-free educational program for community children enrolled in the academy.

He has through the years helped over 1000 children to a more prosperous and equitable future through his gift of Education to the girl-child and boy-child. Callistus Maji has been a pillar of hope, strength, and immense support to the entire community, particularly the community school. Yesterday was Callistus Maji. Today is for you!
